After Mrs. Jardine has accused Barnaby of being a fraud, her niece Pauline, who is in league with Barnaby to rook the old lady, pushes her aunt downstairs. Following Mrs. Jardine's funeral a ghostly hooded monk appears to Plemont, who is later found dead. The monk exacts retribution once more before Jim discovers his identity - though even then there will be room for - supernatural - doubt. |
